Local MP, Steve McCabe is preparing to take part in a daring tandem skydive for charity.

Steve will be making the 15,000ft jump at the end of April, luckily he’ll be securely attached to a professional. Steve is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Acorns Children's Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Steve McCabe MP said:

Following the announcement by Tesco at the start of March that they will no longer be building a store in Stirchley, local MP Steve McCabe and Councillor Mary Locke have been going door to door to ask Stirchley residents what they think should happen to the site in future.

They’ve already spoken to hundreds of residents who are angry and dismayed after putting up with all the disruption for so long. Steve and Mary are determined that local people should have their say in any future plans for the site.

Unemployment is up in Selly Oak for the third month in a row leaving the constituency in the top 10% for unemployment in the UK.

Steve McCabe MP has expressed real concern about figures revealed today by the Office for National Statistics which show that yet again unemployment has increased in his constituency since January, February and this time last year.
